Overview:
PowerSchool is seeking an energetic and dedicated Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting to join our expanding Accounting team, situated in a vibrant and fast-paced environment.
Reporting to the Director of Revenue, this pivotal role plays a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of our worldwide revenue accounting practices.
It requires a combination of leadership qualities, profound accounting expertise, strategic insight, and a forward-thinking approach to refining processes and internal controls.
This position merges both the technical and operational facets of revenue management, focusing on the detailed analysis of standard and non-standard sales contracts, essential for ensuring compliance with intricate accounting standards and strengthening our control framework.
The successful candidate will excel in working with diverse teams, such as Legal, Sales, and Professional Services, aiming to enhance accounting practices and the contract review process.
Responsibilities:

Engage with cross-functional departments to provide expert knowledge of ASC606 guidance for complex revenue contracts and transactions.
Conduct comprehensive reviews of all standard and non-standard new sales contracts, with a focus on identifying multiple performance obligations and ensuring proper revenue recognition.
Research technical revenue accounting issues for complex revenue arrangements, documenting the company's position in a formal memo.
Serve as a technical accounting resource for the team, providing guidance and support on complex and unusual contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment.
Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline the contract review process and enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Revenue Accounting function, while ensuring strict adherence to SOX compliance standards
Provide support to external and internal auditors during quarterly and annual audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and explanations are available to facilitate a thorough and streamlined audit process.
Qualifications:
Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
6+ years of experience in a public accounting firm with enterprise software and/or SaaS industry/client experience OR/AND a publicly traded, high-tech organization
Proficient in the use of NetSuite and Salesforce, with the ability to filter and analyze large datasets
Strong understanding of ASC 606 principles and US GAAP
Capable of working with cross functional teams
Demonstrate ability to spearhead and project manage major programs to successful completion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $130,000 – $160,000 USD.
The compensation range is specific to the United States and incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
