*Congregation Bet Haverim*
Congregation Bet Haverim is a reform synagogue located in Davis, California, a vibrant university community located between San Francisco and Sacramento, with many community and cultural opportunities for people of all beliefs and faiths.
Founded over 50 years ago, CBH is the sole synagogue in Yolo County, and a center of Jewish life.
We provide many worship, educational, and social opportunities for our 300 member households including a thriving Education and Youth program and a preschool that is open to the entire Davis community.
*Requirements*
* Track record of effective and accurate bookkeeping experience.
* Strong customer service background with pleasant, friendly manner.
* Demonstrated ability to move a project from concep on to comple on.
* Proficiency with Quickbooks Online, Excel, Google drive, G-mail, and Share drives.
* Works independently and as a team member in a changing environment.
* Experience with faith based or nonprofit organiza ons a plus.
* Knowledge of Jewish holidays and life-cycle events a plus
* AA or four-year degree required
Bet Haverim is a friendly place to work with a flexible staff who are dedicated to supporting the operation of a diverse range of programs.
Starting in July and leading up to the Jewish High Holidays in the early fall is the busiest me of year.
The Bookkeeper reports to the Executive Director and provides support to staff, congregants, and preschool families.
The Bookkeeper must be both accurate and precise and experienced with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Bank and Account reconciliations.
Candidates should be minimally proficient in Excel and Quickbooks Online.
*The Bookkeeper is responsible for the following tasks:*
* Accounts Receivables: invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and assist with collections.
* Customer Service: answer phones and emails, assisting customers with balances.
* Accounts Payables: manage vendors and process AP data entry in Bill.
com.
* Banking and Credit Card Account Reconciliations: match transactions to bank feed in QBO and perform reconciliations on at month end.
* Bank Deposits: prepare weekly bank deposits and post them in Quickbooks.
* Financial Reporting: provide reports to the Executive Director as directed.
* Prepare Annual Tax Forms: Contractor 1099’s, Donation Statements and Dependent Care Statements

The Bookkeeper is a part-time, non-exempt position.
Salary range: $20-$25 hourly

Once trained, this could be a hybrid job working some shifts remotely.
On-site work depends on the event schedule and me of year.
