*Job Details* *Shift:* day *Location: *West Sacramento, CA *Salary: $120,000 - $130,000, DOE* *Medical benefits eligible first of the month following 28 days of employment.

* *Benefits:* 401(k) with generous Company match Dental insurance Health insurance Health Savings Account Flexible Spending Account Life insurance Paid time off Employee Referral Program Vision insurance *Position Overview*: The Assistant Controller is responsible for preparing financial statements and internal financial reports, analyzing monthly revenue and expenses, reviewing bank and monthly balance sheet reconciliations, supervising the Accounts Payable staff, and assisting with other finance department projects as needed.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*: * Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
* Perform or oversee all duties related to the monthly close process.
* Assist the CFO in producing accurate and timely financial statements, internal financial reporting, and other recurring reporting as requested by the senior management team.
* Review, analyze, and reconcile revenue and expense reports for accuracy, supporting management by creating reports focused to compare results to budget and facilitate informed decisions.
* Suggest and implement accounting processes, control procedures, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
* Oversee and review capital project and fixed asset accounting, including project cost tracking, auditing of existing fixed assets, classifying assets for income and property tax reporting, recording depreciation, and accounting for asset dispositions.
* Interface with outside auditors for annual financial statement audit and tax return preparation, as well as other vendors as required.
* Coach, supervise and oversee Accounts Payable staff, acting as lead contact between Payables and finance department.
* Serve as the lead accounting Subject Matter Expert for the ERP implementation, ensuring proper integration off all operational functions into the General Ledger.
* Cross-train with entire financial team, from accounting staff to CFO and Senior Accounting Manager, in order to serve as a key backup to many of the key duties of the finance department.
* Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by the CFO.
* General o Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.
o Perform all other duties as assigned .
o Regular and punctual attendance.
* To perform this job successfully, must be able to perform each fundamental task listed above satisfactorily *Competencies*: * Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
* Advanced computer skills with the ability to compile complex spreadsheets to create meaningful and concise communications.
Aptitude to learn and navigate multiple accounting systems as well as Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills with the ability to prioritize projects efficiently.
* Work requires strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
*Education and/or Experience*: * This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, thorough knowledge of financial reporting and 8+ years related experience * CPA certification required.
*Supervisory Responsibilities*: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
*Amount of Travel Involved*: Up to 10% *Language Skills*: English is required, Spanish is helpful *Physical Demands: *The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
