*SUMMARY*: Manages key financial functions by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
* Confer with CFO and President to discuss everything to do with corporate finances.
* Responsible for the accurate operations of the company, including the production of financial reports and financial statements and ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
* Responsible for the accurate input and output of all financial information and supervision of two accounting clerks.
Assists and provides backup for all accounting staff.
* Maintains a system of controls over accounting transactions.
* Monitors accounts payable, customer deposits, payroll, inventory, and inbound freight for discrepancies and reconciles to general ledger accounts.
* Recommends benchmarks against which to measure for performance of the company operation.
* Prepares annual budget and forecasts and reports significant issues to management.
* Provides financial analysis as needed to department managers.
* Provides biweekly inventory reports for management team.
* Coordinate the preparation of the corporate tax return.
* Complies with and prepares all government reporting requirements including sales tax returns, personal property returns, workers compensation reports, payroll reports, and various government required documentation.
* Monitors and maintains fixed assets.
* Assist CFO with banking duties, check writing and insurance renewals.
* Prepares bank reconciliations * Maintains chart of accounts * Provides administrative support to management as needed.
*WORKING HOURS:* * Accounting Manager will maintain no less than a 37.
5 hour workweek, also occasionally, evening and weekend hours may be required to complete projects.
*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: * * Manages subordinate(s) in the accounting department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
*PRINCIPLE CONTACTS:* * Chairman/ CFO, President, Store Manager, Warehouse Manager, Merchandising Manager, Payroll Clerk.

Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
* REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical and accounting problems, and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where limitations may exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
