*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
1.
Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to, book, and report in-force
2.
premiums, accruals, cash, AR on a monthly basis.
3.
Perform bank reconciling of premiums, deposits etc.
4.
Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close.
5.
Prepare monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives, including
budgeted vs actual variance reports.
Assist in providing follow-up documentation of significant variances.
6.
Make daily, weekly, and monthly 941 IRS deposits.
7.
Prepare and distribute financial statements
8.
Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards.
9.
Coordinate and resolve various issues with bank such as cleared check differences, bank fees anomalies,
targeted balance calculations and enhancement to online services.
10.
Assist with the filings of the Form 5500, 990 and 199 filings by preparing all necessary information and
documentation.
11.
Assist with annual external audits.
12.
Assist in the development of the comprehensive yearly budget
13.
Assist with testing and receiving final approval for system reports required for the Board of Trustees,
financial reporting, and general ledger reconciliations.
Serve as the bank liaison.
14.
Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedures
15.
Perform yearly audits of all programs
16.
Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
17.
Attend Board of Trustees meetings as requested
18.
Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned
*Qualifications:*
1.
Intermediate/advance knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting, preferably dynamics 17
2.
Extensive experience with Forms 5500, 199, and 990 IRS filings.
3.
Strong mathematical skills
4.
Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, with advanced knowledge of excel, is required.
*Education*
1.
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance, or another related field.
2.
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience for a Trust or other similar service organization with the insurance industry is required.
