Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
- Conduct tax research and provide guidance on tax planning strategies
- Assist clients with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities
- Review financial reports and interpret the data for tax implications
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Provide support and guidance to junior staff members
Skills:
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage or similar platforms
- Excellent technical accounting skills with a focus on tax regulations
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify opportunities for tax savings or efficiencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing tax returns and reports
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements for taxes at the federal, state, and local levels
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting for tax obligations
Note: This position requires a strong background in tax accounting, including experience with financial report interpretation, accounts payable, financial accounting, technical accounting, and budgeting.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
