Summary
The Payroll/Benefits Specialist oversees all aspects of the organization’s bi-monthly payroll process, onboarding, and benefits.
They collaborate with the Director of Finance, Human Resources, and Fiscal Department to generate reports about payroll, company budget, and expenses.

in Accounting/Finance or similar required
Minimum 2 years’ experience in payroll or similar position
Competencies:
Excellent organizational, Microsoft Office, and accounting skills
Proficiency with HRIS and similar software
Discretion with confidential salary and benefits information
Thorough knowledge of tax and wage laws
Knowledge of legal confidentiality and ethical requirements
Professional presentation
Competent interpersonal skills
Competent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
Manage bi-monthly payroll process and integrate with AIS
Manage employee benefits for an organization of 100+ employees
Process and distribute termination checks and accompanying letters
Open enrollments and monthly benefit audits
Address and resolve timecard and payroll errors and conduct training on time and labor SAAS System
Collaborate with Director of Finance and management team to audit staff hours for grants and cost centers
Perform employee verifications
Process unemployment and disability claim forms, wage garnishments, Leaves of Absence/FMLA, marriage status forms, and benefit enrollments for the employees
Participate in audits and other quality department monitoring work
Tracking required health screenings and credentials
Participate in projects as assigned to support the Director of Finance, Human Resources, and the Fiscal Team
Adhere to all HIPAA and HITECH requirements as they pertain to client care
