QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance, minimum of 3 years’ experience in Medical billing/Data entry/Medi-Cal billing, or
High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years prior experience with Medical billing/Data entry/Medi-Cal billing
Experience in non-profit industry is a plus
Previous Medi-Cal processing experience preferred
Previous County & State Contract billing experience preferred
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Position Specific
Medical, Medi-Cal Billing Knowledge, Other Health Care (OHC), Enhanced Care Management (ECM) Processing
Medi-Cal and OHC Denial management.
Troubleshoot reason and resubmit corrected documentation to ensure payment of services for clients and families within establish eligibility timelines.
Coordinate Claim details with County Contracts
Complete weekly and bi-monthly reports related to Medi-Cal Eligibility
Medical Billing Clearinghouse Service Processing w/ 3rd Party Vendors
County Credential review, submission and maintenance for all direct service staff upon new hire, or as needed based on new licensing credentials for established employees.
Able to establish relationships with HR and direct staff for credentialing compliance.
Review discrepancies in data received, requests clarification or advises supervisor of issues related to data and performs data verification routines in accordance with agency procedures
Verify and audit the accuracy of accounting and mental health documents or records
Reconcile Billing and tracking Status of Claims
Enter data accurately into computer system using defined computer programs
Establish data entry priorities
Recommend actions to resolve discrepancies
Investigate questionable data
Maintain data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures
Interacts with departmental and other staff on matters affecting data and publications flow and makes recommendations for improvement or enhancement to job processes to ensure standards in data entry, collection and retrieval

terminated at any time, without cause or reason, by either the employee or the Agency.
