Description:*JOB OVERVIEW:* As our Payroll Administrator, you will own the payroll process and related activities ensuring organizational compliance with federal and local regulations as well as union agreements.
You will work closely with your HR and Accounting peers and communicate with the broader 300 employees as needed.
Your ability to balance between maintaining trustful relationships, having an uncompromising commitment to accuracy and ensuring timely processing will be key to your success.
As a key member of the team, you’ll be expected to always exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness, and to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* The following reflects the essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
*Payroll Processing* * Process payroll, including validating accuracy, hours, garnishments, etc.
* Reconcile and prepare commission reports for processing during payroll.
* Act as point of contact for commission related questions/clarification.
* Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll related reports.
*Accounting and Auditing* * Create and maintain payroll records for audits as needed.
* Calculate commission owed per sales agreements as defined by role * Prepare journal entries related to payroll, commission accrual, time off balances, worker’s compensation and benefits and complete reconciliations of corresponding accounts.
* Prepare WIP Labor journal entries and reconcile balances each month.
* Provide analysis of labor paid and posted to ERP.
*HR Support* * Assist HR Department in benefit and employee record related issues.
* Reconcile benefit invoices with employee records.
* Prepare and process benefits related reports and payments, including union dues and welfare programs.
Requirements:*QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:* *Required* * Minimum of two-year certificate from college or technical school and two years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* 3+ years managing payroll and commissions.
* Commitment to excellence and high standards of accuracy.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
* Working knowledge of Federal and State wage and labor laws.
* Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
* Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
* Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
* Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to adjust when priorities change.
* Proven ability to demonstrate our company values.
* Desired* * Experience managing payroll in PAYLOCITY * Experience working in a union environment *PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:* * Approximately 90% is spent seated at a desk, working on the telephone or at a computer terminal.
* The computer is used as a telephone, messenger, and work tool, so expect to wear a headset and use both a keyboard and mouse frequently through the day.
* Approximately 10% is spent bending, squatting, standing, or moving about the work area.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $23.
