*Teacher Job Description*
Nature’s Lab School is unique! Our bilingual program (Spanish) is inspired by Reggio Emilia in Italy, Waldorf education, Scandinavian schools, and our love for children and hands-on learning.
And we know this is a wonderful mix as it allows us to bring in new activities and information to meet each person's needs and interests.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
· Develop and maintain a constructive and loving relationship with children and parents.
· Engage positively while ensuring children are actively learning in a safe, fun environment.
· Ensure the safety of the children by observing and supervising them at all times.
· Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the interior and exterior of the school in accordance with program and Title 22 regulations.
· Organize and lead activities that promote physical, cognitive, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and exploring our rich outdoor and indoor environment.
· Speak in Spanish with the children at all times (preferred).
· Other responsibilities as needed
- Able to observe, see, hear and respond to children’s needs, emergencies, and conflicts that might occur in an indoor and outdoor classroom, bathrooms, and common areas.
- Able to lift 30 pounds from the floor to a waist-high table 20-25 times daily.
- Able to be outdoors with the children for extended periods.
- Able to reach a child 25-35 feet away within 30 seconds without danger to the staff person’s health.
- Able to kneel, squat, stretch, twist, or reach out to a child’s height, maintain eye contact at the child’s level, sit on the floor, and stand tall enough to reach children on the highest piece of equipment.
- Able to handle the stress, tension, and frustration that contact with many children and parents may sometimes bring.
- Able to provide excellent customer service.
*Education required:*
· 12 units in Child Development units.
BA in ECE or related field preferred.
Provide TB clearance, Health Screening Report, Mandated Reporter Training, and immunization for MMR, Tdap before 1st day with children.

*Hours and compensation:*
This position can be Part-time 4 to 5 hours daily
or, Full-time 8-hours daily.
Employees work hours are scheduled between 7:35 am and 5:00 pm depending on team needs.
Compensation depending on education and experience $17.
50- $20 per hour DOE and education.
