*Position Summary: *Under the supervision of the Community Center Manager, the Child Watch/Play Care Support is responsible for providing Child watch/Play care to infants, children, and youth in his/her care while children are in the B&B FRC, play care, and other FRC related activities.
All duties will be performed within a strength-based, culturally responsive and in a trauma informed manner.
*Compensation:* $17-19$ per hour, This position is Non-Exempt- Temporary-Part Time *Essential Functions:* ● Be responsible for infants, children, and youth in his/her care while children are in the B&B FRC, play care, and other FRC related activities.
● · Act at all times in a manner that ensures the physical and emotional health, safety, and well-being of the infants, children, and youth in groups ● · Model strength-based program values while facilitating play care.
● · Develop and implement age-appropriate daily play care activities.
● · Staff child watch/play care/youth activities as scheduled and alert the Supervisor when assistance is needed.
● · Observe the child/children’s behavior that should be shared with a supervisor or members of the Multi-Disciplinary Resource Team (MRT/MDT) should know.
● · Facilitate and engage in age-appropriate learning opportunities for children/youth in a structured environment which focuses on developmental domains.
● Staff child watch/play care as needed or assigned and alert community center manager of play care needs.
● Ensure the physical and emotional health, safety, and well-being of kids in play care.
● Be responsible for the infants/children in child watch/play care or in other community center activities.
1 Supervision, Training ● Attend regular supervision and team meetings with the Community Center Manager.
● Attend required trainings provided as identified by supervisor that support the development of the role and ensure contract compliance.

Case File Documentation ● Assist and submit accurate and timely reports, progress notes, and data collection.

Other Functions: ● Follow HIPPA laws and maintain confidentiality for all infants, children/youth who are under her/his care.
● Assist with and participate in outreach, community engagements, referrals, and volunteer generation.
● Maintain a safe, clean, resourceful, and enriching environment for infants, children/youth.
● Assist with, conduct and/or participate in Mutual Assistance Network’s Community Centers’ (also referred to as Family Resource Center) play care.
Child watch/Play care assistance includes ensuring the emotional and physical safety of children in play care, planning, and leading developmentally appropriate activities that are designed to prepare children for school.
● Must report to work site as scheduled and agreed upon with Supervisor (Community Center Manager) ● _Other duties as assigned.
_ *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* ● Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
● Ability to work with diverse workgroups and serve families with diverse economic, social, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
● Knowledgeable about local community resources.
● Ability to establish and maintain personal and programmatic boundaries while providing supportive services.
● Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to individuals who may not share basic commonality, including value systems and behavior norms.
● Experience in working with culturally diverse communities and families, with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.
● Demonstrate good writing and organizational skill.
● Skill to maintain a professional, confidential work environment.
● Ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner.
● Knowledge of child abuse issues, substance abuse and family dynamics.
● Knowledge of child development and behavior.
● Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required.
● Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
● Experience in social services in community settings with families preferred.
● Able to deal with stressful situations.
*Physical Qualifications* ● Ability to work in office setting and operate basic office equipment (phones, fax and copy machine) ● Ability to perform basic computer functions (word processing, internet research, email) ● Ability to work with individuals and general public in a community center setting.
● Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
● Ability to frequently sit, bend, twist, squat, kneel, reach, push and pull.
● Ability to occasionally walk up to one mile intermittently with breaks.
● Ability to climb stairs.
*Other Qualifications:* ● Must be at least 15-year-old.
● Must have a California ID or School ID.
● Must be a U.
S.
citizen or lawful permanent resident.
● Must be able to obtain a work permit if still attending high school.
● Clearance of fingerprint background check.
● Must possess reliable transportation.
● Be able to travel between sites and to offsite events.
