Hi my name is Melissa I'm 36 and am a need basis babysitter for families all throughout Sacramento.
Some examples of need basis babysitting that I've done are date night babysitting, babysitting when schools/daycares are closed for a holiday, being available to babysit during emergencies sitter and babysitting when parents go out of town.
Many parents have expressed to me that I've been a life saver to them because of my being available sometimes on very short notice!
A little about me: I have a child development major&working with children is actually my chosen career! With each babysitting job I make it my goal to offer fun hands-on interactive babysitting.
I have 4 years of training at Utep University in Texas in the elementary education degree field, there my training was with the goal of being a kindergarten or first grade instructor&have also completed a specialized associate of applied science in child development at Epcc.
I would describe myself as a babysitter who's motivated&who truly has a passion for working with children!
I've used a variety of activities when babysitting and tutoring including small house play performances (we design masks or costumes), hands-on science experiments, game nights w/ prizes, creative arts&crafts, outdoor picnics, painting, activities that help with fine motor skills development, baking&no-bake cooking, read a-louds, beading, sculpting projects, outdoors activities, sports of all sorts, music appreciation activities, dance, creative play, activities utilizing the 5 senses, water play, scavenger hunts&exploration.
I really like to engage children in the world around them&I love trying new activities!
I was raised in Alaska&as a child I grew up in Montessori doing hands on crafts, learning outdoors, planting flowers, adopting trees, cleaning up our environment&taking interest in exploring life&our beautiful earth.
This upbringing had motivated me so much.
I have over 12 years of experience working w/ children from infancy to adolescence in both care giving&teaching.
Being 35 years old I've worked with&watched lots of children grow up.
