We are looking for an experienced Guest Host to join our team and facilitate collaboration between our kitchen and wait staff.
As a Guest Host, you will be responsible for ensuring a positive guest experience by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a high-volume restaurant setting and a friendly and welcoming attitude.
To be considered for this role, you should be available to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays (Friday/Saturday nights are a requirement).
*Responsibilities*
* Greet guests upon arrival and provide a warm welcome, as well as offer assistance with seating and any special requests.
* Manage waitlists and reservations, ensuring timely seating and efficient table management.
* Serve welcome drinks, menus, and table settings upon guests’ arrival
* Prepare tables for upcoming reservations booked
* Maintain a clean and organized host stand area, as well as ensure the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant's entryway.
* Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a seamless flow of service.
* Provide accurate and detailed information about the menu and daily specials, as well as answer any guest questions or concerns.
* Handle guest complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner, escalating issues to management as necessary.
* Uphold the restaurant's high standards of customer service, cleanliness, and safety.
* Maintain a friendly and positive demeanor, even during busy and stressful periods.
* Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive team atmosphere.
* Assist with front of house prep duties during down time
* Remove dirty dishes and utensils during slower times
* Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
*Qualifications*
* Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Guest Host in a high-volume restaurant.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
* Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional under pressure.
* Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage waitlists and reservations effectively.
* Proficiency in reservation management software, Toast.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
