At this time we are going to work within those that have already contacted us, but I won't officially take this down until we have the position filled.
At this time we are not looking for any additional people to interview.
Summary: Looking ASAP for a live-in caregiver for my grandmother in Rocklin CA.
Needs frequent support throughout the day, but no medical support.
Looking for someone who can just set aside about 2 months to help.
Personal transportation not needed, no previous experience required.
Pay: My grandmother would gift $18,000 to whoever is able to help her during this time.
For 60 days, that would be $300/day.
Hours and time away: Looking for someone to stay day and night, weekdays and weekends.
My Aunt can coordinate to cover for a few hours during the day for you to get away, but simply can't be a physical support to my grandmother anymore.
We can also arrange some days off for my dad to come to town and take over if needed.
Any days off we would extend the timeframe to ensure you still get 60 days.
Duties: The biggest consideration is that grandma can't walk by herself and needs help getting to the bathroom and wiping.
She also tries to get up by herself because she forgets she can't walk on her own and someone needs to just sit her back down.
During the night there is a bed alarm to alert others if she gets up, and you would put her back to bed or help her to the bathroom as needed.
Otherwise you would just be sitting with her all day keeping her company and reassuring her if she gets confused or upset.
She is often confused and says things that don't make sense, but we just try to make her comfortable.
You would also get her water and snacks, but you don't need to cook meals for her.
There is a worker who comes once a week to bathe her and take care of other things too.
You'd be free to be on your phone/laptop and watch shows, social media, etc.
all day long.
Living arrangement: You would have a private guest room and be across from a hall bathroom.
My Aunt also lives at the house, but she is no longer capable of physically supporting my grandmother so that's why we need someone to help.
She spends most of her time outdoors or in her room, but would be making my grandmother's meals.
FYI she is a smoker, but never indoors.
You would have access to the fridge and kitchen to make your own meals as you like.
You are welcome to do your own shopping or coordinate with my aunt to get things when she goes out.
Qualifications: Pretty much none.
She does not need any medical care, and everything you need to do to help her we would show you how until you are comfortable doing it in your own.
No previous experience required.
You don't need your own transportation, and if you live within 2 hours if the area I'm sure we could arrange your initial pickup and drop off for you.
