About me:
Studied as an MNT (Medical Nail Technician) under the MediNails Program run by Dr.
Robert Spaulding, PDM which is the ONLY medical nail tech program in the U.
S.
taught by a podiatrist.
This is separate education which is not part of the standard manicurist license required by CA.
CA does not teach medical nail care as part of their 400 hour training education requirement, nor is it required as part of licensing which is why individuals with problem nails/skin should not visit salons and any good and reputable salon should refer you to a podiatrist.
I am experienced and trained in various difficulties with the nails of the feet.
I have 10 year experience caring for clients with everything from autoimmune disorders to healthy nails to thickened, hard to cut nails.
About my business: I quadruple clean all stainless steel instruments, they are sanitized and scrubbed, run through liquid chemical disinfectant, then heat sterilization then sealed and autoclaved (heat, steam and pressure) sterilization to ensure absolute cleanliness and safety.
A new package with color-confirming sterilization indicators is opened for each client, in front of the client.
I use single-use files, drill bits, tub liners (no whirlpools) and brushes to ensure no cross contamination between clients, they are disposed of after use.
I also maintain strict wound care practices and blood borne pathogen guidelines and keep all medical supplies on hand, something that is not required or even standard practice in salons.
I charge a flat rate, offer discounts and a referral program and I do not work outside of my scope of training and certification, which means if you have a case I haven't been trained on, I will refer you out to a podiatrist.
