JOB TITLE: Assistant Education
Director
DIVISION: Learning Center
REPORTS TO: Center Director
GENERAL SUMMARY
The
Assistant Education Director is responsible for leading the day-to-day
administrative tasks in the Center such as phone reception, word processing, data entry, filing, and other
administrative tasks.
The Assistant Education Director provides a positive first impression for potential and
existing customers, field calls from customers, schedules appointments, and
coordinates community and school marketing events.
The Assistant
Education Director is responsible for ensuring that Sylvan education
programs are delivered by teachers as designed and that the ongoing education
needs of Sylvan families are met.
To ensure a personal learning experience, the Assistant Education Director
monitors student performance, meets regularly with families, and connects with
schoolteachers to help ensure the application of skills learned in the
classroom.
When the Center Director is unavailable or not in the Center, the Assistant Director
of Education serves as the point-of-contact for customers and manages Center
operations.
The Assistant Director of Education also communicates with the Center Director regularly to
ensure quality and consistency of the customer experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Leads day-to-day administrative tasks such as timely and high-quality phone reception, word processing, data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks
·
Greets and assists students, parents, and potential customers according to Sylvan standards
·
Fields inquiry calls from potential customers; Fields calls from current families
·
Schedules assessments, tours and Welcome Conferences according to Sylvan Standards; Manages scheduling changes of current families
·
Supports standards and procedures to ensure student safety and well-being
·
Manages and delivers all conference activities such as preparing conference materials and meeting with parents to keep families enrolled in Sylvan
·
Sets weekly goals with Center Director to drive sales growth
·
Partners with Center Director to run day-to-day operations including customer account management
·
Ensures initial and ongoing progress assessments are administered according to Sylvan standards
·
Monitors student progress to ensure goals are achieved and ongoing family needs are met
·
Checks students in and out of the Center with particular attention to student safety and well-being
·
Greets and assists students, parents, and potential customers according to Sylvan standards
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
·
Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field encouraged
·
Customer service experience; Retail sales experience preferred
·
State or provincial teaching credentials (current or expired)
·
Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred; Experience in supervisor role preferred
·
Familiarity with instructional technology and tablet computers
·
Experience using Microsoft Word and other standard business applications used by the Center
·
Knowledge of general office equipment such as copiers, printers, and office phones
