Summary
The individual will work closely with the Director of Agronomy, Assistant Superintendents, and Equipment Technician Supervisor.
This position will have the opportunity to experience all aspects of golf course maintenance.
A typical work week would consist of approximately 5-10 hrs.
assisting Equipment Technician Supervisor, and 30-35 hrs working on projects or general golf course maintenance.
The individual should be able to operate specialty equipment, such as the tractors, skid-loader, trenchers and backhoe for construction projects and loading material for general course maintenance in a safe manner.
If time allows, the individual will have the ability to learn how to repair and troubleshoot our irrigation system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Assist Equipment Manager with: equipment training, adjusting cutting units, reel and bedknife grinding, lubricating and servicing all equipment, and keeping up to date records on equipment maintenance.
Assist with: chemical and fertilizer applications, record keeping, and calibration.
Assist in daily irrigation practices.
Operates ALL equipment that is used in daily course maintenance.
Perform general golf course maintenance practices such as: course setup, mowing of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, etc.
Strong work ethic with the following traits: attention to detail and a desire and willingness to learn and be creative.
Maintains flexibility to lead and take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.
Plans maintenance and project work, applying his or her agronomic and administrative expertise to achieve the agreed-upon maintenance standards and long- range goals.
Keep accurate and complete records on inventory, weather data, and maintenance projects.
Ensures proper safety of himself and all other associates in regards to operation of all equipment.
Communicates the importance of safety procedures, detailing procedure codes, ensuring employee understanding of safety codes, monitoring processes and procedures related to safety.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
