*Job description*
Our Pilates Reformer program is growing! We are looking to add to our wonderful group of instructors.
Ideally, we are seeking a long term, friendly team member who is passionate about teaching and enjoys sharing knowledge of the Reformer.
We would need help with subbing, teaching small group reformer classes, one-on-one reformer training, and reformer introductions.
Our clients are 55+ active adults with general and specific fitness goals, as well as some who are recovering from injury or medical events.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
*Group Exercise Program Support:*
· Create, implement and update classes using generally accepted techniques and dynamics of Group Fitness classes.
· Teach assigned fitness classes while providing a safe and fun environment for residents.
· Promote knowledge of proper group fitness components, i.
e.
, warm up, aerobic exercise, flexibility, cool down, etc.
· Knowledgeable in a variety of class formats.
· Provide customer service to the residents.
· Maintain Group Fitness equipment and room – set up and clean up
· Maintain a specialty certification for all specialty classes taught (yoga, Arthritis, Diabetes etc.
)
· Attend, at own expense, continuing education workshops as required for certification.
· Attend WellFit meetings to be held on an as needed basis.
· Participate in promotions as needed.
· Read announcements in class.
· Arrive 5 minutes before class to welcome residents & sign in.
· Schedule all substitute teachers when unable to teach class using department software.
· Other duties as assigned by management.
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*
· Ability to exchange and receive information through written and oral communications.
Must be able to speak in a clear and understandable voice so that communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities.
· Duties of maintaining files, records and equipment will involve stooping, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 45 lbs.
This type of activity may occur several times throughout the day.
· Performance of duties will require employee to be both inside and outside.
Inside temperature will be controlled and the use of fluorescent lighting.
Outside may be exposed to the elements that may be wind, rain, cold and extreme heat.
· Must be able to exchange and receive information over the telephone and computer.
· Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
