gov/funding#loan POSITION SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to provide management and supervision of the Children & Families Department and to provide behavioral health services to eligible individuals.
Services include psychological assessment and evaluation; individual, group, couples and family therapy; referrals; consultation; program planning; education and prevention service/activities under existing guidelines.
These existing guidelines include the policy and procedures of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, IHS Chapter 14, Mental Health Program Standards, and Privacy Act, which must be met.
Judgement and initiative are required in selecting approaches and developing innovative solutions in spite of gaps in local and state resources for comprehensive services.
Work is performed in a variety of settings, office, clinic, other program facilities, and community settings.
The Clinical Supervisor works closely with other clinical department leaders to ensure achievement of the organization’s mission, philosophy, and guiding principles in response to the identified needs of the community it serves.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervision and direction to the Office Manager as well as professional and paraprofessional staff, including counselors, clinicians etc.
Provide peer review and regular individual clinical supervision to licensed and non-licensed therapists and clinical interns.
Manage concerns relating to coverage, productivity, customer service, and workload expectations.
Provides the full range of psychological services to patients seen in SSHWC delivery system.
Consults with primary care providers, psychiatric providers, social workers, public health nurse, other behavioral health clinicians regarding the evaluation and treatment of the patients.
Specific recommendations are made regarding the treatment program, appropriate responses and specific environmental factors that will improve patient outcomes.
Provides psychological assessment, testing, and evaluation, referral, consultation, program planning, chemical dependency counseling/education, prevention services/activities, individual, couples, group and family therapy.
Interact with clients to provide assessment, testing, diagnosis treatment, case management, follow up, and treatment planning, with psychiatric providers and primary care providers to provide consultation.
Coordinate referrals and work with medical staff around the management of patients who are taking psychotropic medication; multidisciplinary coordination to develop continuity of care, coordinate referrals and provide case consultation.
Consultation to the SSHWC Health Board and other tribal groups, i.
e.
, TANF, Tribal Services, Tribal Court, and other local agencies and groups concerned with behavioral health services to the SSHWC community.
Collaborates and cooperates in a professional manner with co-workers, other departments, and other agencies to assure effective continuity of care and services.
Prepares and maintains mental health notes and narrative reports of mental health activities (in the appropriate charting format).
Maintains clients’ records as part of the electronic health records system and follows federal Privacy Act and HIPPA regulations regarding the protection of records and maintenance of client confidentiality.
Observes the Confidentiality/Privacy Act as required by SSHWC, Tribal, State and Federal Regulations and laws.
Participates in department and SSHWC Quality Assurance planning and implementation.
Developing and implementing departmental policy and procedures.
Providing in-service training for staff on pertinent clinical topics including confidentiality, mandated reporting, dual relationship, therapeutic approaches.
Representing Children’s BH department in community activities and relevant multi-agency meetings.
In conjunction with the Executive Director and Behavioral Health Director, responsible for developing/monitoring department budgets.
Responsible for the development and achievement of annual goals and objectives and service outcomes.
Responsible for hiring, orientation, training, termination and supervision of Behavioral Health staff in compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Develops and manages staff resources and ensures productivity standards are met.
Ensures the timely and complete documentation of services/billing in the EMR by all behavioral health providers.
Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with staff to exchange clinical and administrative information.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Licensure as a clinical psychologist and/or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Clinical supervisor certification (if applicable).
1 year of supervisory experience; 5 or more years of clinical experience child and family focused (required).
Must be able to identify clients who are in a medical crisis and follow the appropriate procedure (as instructed in company-provided training(s)).
Must be able to work individually as well as within a team.
Able to participate in evaluation, diagnosis, children and family psychotherapy, crisis intervention, consultation, prevention, and research such as would be obtained in a post graduate program in psychology or social work.
Must have knowledge of the Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
Must be experienced with Electronic Health Records.
Must be organized, self-motivated, and be able to work with others.
Knowledge of HIPAA Law, Privacy Acts, and ability to maintain confidentiality of records.
High degree of skill in the psychological assessment and evaluation of children and youth.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and coordinate several projects to meet specified objectives.
Maintain detailed records of these activities and projects.
Required to prepare written and oral reports as necessary.
Provide clinical leadership for other behavioral health clinicians.
Assist in attracting and retaining similarly amazing behavioral health clinicians.
Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
Post job offer: CPR/BLS certification, TB test, proof of COVID-19 vaccination and annual flu shot (during flu season) are required as a condition of employment, unless a medical/religious accommodation request is provided.
Hepatitis B Vaccine will be offered at no cost to employees, but it is not required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Experience: 5 to 7 years supervisory; Clinical 7+ years child and family focused.

DRUG SCREEN Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians requires the successful completion of a drug screening of all potential Tribal employees prior to being hired.
The Tribe recognizes that the State of California has legalized the use of marijuana.
The Tribe is located on federally owned trust land and complies with federal laws.
Therefore, marijuana use is prohibited, and all drug tests will include a screening for THC.
Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians recognizes a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy, and employees will be required to sign a Consent to Drug and/or Alcohol Testing.
Employees may be selected for alcohol / drug testing upon reasonable suspicion, and upon any/all accidents.
