Job Description AECOM is seeking a Lead Engineer - Civil or Electrical for our utility clients.
As a member of our Program team, the Lead Engineer reviews technical submittals, provides direction to less experienced staff and leads engineering teams, provides technical deliverables, contributes to development of the program technical procedures and performs other related engineering and design activities.
The ideal candidate: + Possesses working knowledge of power grid, transmission and distribution industry (T&D) and electric utilities in California and has strong working knowledge of design, construction and permitting of new underground and overhead power distribution lines.
+ Expected to be a self-starter and result oriented individual with strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills and ability to communicate and coordinate project goals to the rest of technical staff and other team members.
+ Experienced in checking completed job packages for adequacy of design and documentation.
+ Experienced in working with a diverse team of professionals including, but not limited to: project managers, construction managers, project controls professionals, estimating, public outreach, procurement professionals, environmental professionals, consultants, owners' engineers, safety professionals, risk management etc.
+ Has ability to effectively communicate expectations and requirements with both clients and team members.
+ Able to assist with new recruitment, mentoring and training of other staff and team members.
+ Can perform other department and/or program duties as required.
DCS—Energy AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients.

+ Knowledge of Power distribution equipment and construction means and methods + Proficient with survey, base mapping, geographic information systems (GIS) and LiDAR + Be located in California or willing to relocate + Professional Engineer (P.

) + Master’s degree in technical discipline + Demonstrated experience delivering work in fast paced projects and/or programs with high quality on schedule and within scope and budget.
