Looking for an individual with telecom inside plant equipment background.
NOTE: We are searching for a candidate that will cover Northern Central Valley to Redding, CA.
ATCO Communications Services, LLC, is looking for an individual with telecom inside plant equipment background.
This position is responsible for performing scheduled site visits for upcoming inside plant equipment projects.
Fielder position provides documentation, floor plan updates, equipment bay photos, updated narrative information based on the field visit, back to the assigned detail engineer.
Central Office equipment types include but are not limited to Ethernet Routers, Transport ROADM, and Packet Optical Nodes, DSLAM technologies, Metro-Ethernet customer site equipment, and FTTH Nokia OLT and NG4 deployments.
NOTE: We are searching for a candidate that will cover the Northern Central Valley of California.
Responsibilities:
Interface with Planners and other Implementation organizations to obtain critical pre-engineering information, site specific data as well as other end of job information.
Ensure that all engineering documentation is accurate and up to date for use by the Detail Engineers.
Prepare, manage, and maintain project documentation, maps, and CAD drawings.
Create field notes and drawings with detailed field information.
Travel is required to sites needing audits.
States included but not limited to California, Washington, Idaho, and Oregon.
Site work experience that includes detailed review of an area to capture all existing equipment requirements, all adjacent structures, detailed measurements, and the path to extend facilities inside a central office.
May carry equipment such as GPS units, GPS antennas, measuring sticks, measuring wheels and other handheld devices.
May be required to read engineering designs which use color coding to denote telecom routes.
Qualifications/Experience:
5 or more years’ experience in telecom equipment fielding, engineering or installation.
Demonstrated ability to be highly motivated, work independently, customer focused with organizational and leadership skills.
Knowledge of the layout of a Telecom Central Office.
Understanding of telecom networks and related equipment.
Knowledge of DC power systems, cable sizing and equipment requirements.
Understanding of support structure, cable racking, fiber trough etc.
Demonstrated skill in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs.
Knowledge and ability to utilize CAD systems, Draftsight/COVango.
Experience with Frontier/Ziply Engineering systems such as Infinium, M6, Varasset, is a plus.
Ability to write detailed reports, correspondence, and documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization on project status and changes.
Out of town and overnight travel is required, approximately 80% of the time.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Requires use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
