Position Description:
Reporting to the Vantage Elevation Vice President of Finance and Treasurer, the Business Unit Financial Controller (“Controller”) will be responsible for all aspects of the financial stewardship of Elevator Controls, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting while partnering with operating management to deliver results and manage risks appropriately.
The Controller has responsibility for all the accounting and financial aspects of the Elevator Controls business, including transaction processing, general accounting, monthly and annual financial reporting, and the budgeting process.
The Controller will play a key leadership role that uses clear and measurable goals and objectives to drive results.
They must be able to roll up his/her sleeves and get into the details, while also having the ability to contribute and communicate effectively within all levels of the organization.
Requirements
We are searching for a candidate with:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting and business unit controllership experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and well-versed in best-in-class accounting, and finance practices.
Proficiency with financial information systems, including ERP, payroll, and electronic banking systems.
Private equity experience in the manufacturing or distribution industry is helpful but not required.
Authentic individual with exceptional work ethic and impeccable integrity whose personal and professional values are consistent with the Elevator Controls mission, vision, and leadership framework.
A self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a critical thinker with a problem-solving consultative approach, and a good listener.

Duties and Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and financial statements, including, but not limited to reviewing and approving all journal entries and GL reconciliations, and financial reporting (5-day closing).
Maintain financial records by analyzing balance sheet and general ledger accounts with the purpose of driving business results.
Prepare monthly financial analysis.
Prepare cash and working capital management (e.
g.
receivables, payables, aging schedules,
collections, etc.
).
Prepare budget and projection models, as well as ad hoc forecasts, submitted to Corporate Finance team.
Assess, create, document, and implement accounting and finance process improvements.
Support the improvement of cash flow forecasting & cash management.
Manage annual Form 1099 tax preparation distribution and filings.
Oversee and manage local finance team.
Serve as the primary interface for Elevator Controls with external auditors.
Serve as business partner to the General Manager, their staff, and all in the plant to provide operational and strategic guidance as required.
