Trauma Education and Support Services is partnered with Expressions of Hope and is a rapidly expanding Wraparound service provider for foster and adoptive families in California.
Our vision is to promote comfort, connection, and community so that every child feels loved and valued, and every family feels supported by someone who understands what they are going through.
We are looking for a *Trauma Specialist* to work with families by using their tools and insights to manage the usual relational dynamics as well as the unique dynamics of adoptive or foster care family settings and to help identify why behaviors exist and how they relate to trauma.
We help navigate difficult emotions, experiences, and life transitions by creating a safe place to grow and heal.
*Major Areas of Responsibilities*
* Conduct initial consultations to gather client information
* Assess the emotional needs of families and individuals in the families
* Conduct individual and family therapy sessions with clients using various therapeutic modalities such as psychotherapy, applied behavior analysis, and clinical counseling.
* Provide parents and children with a safe space that will promote a stronger emotional family connection.
* Develop and implement treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
* Create treatment plans and growth goals for children, parents, and families as a whole
* Provide psychoeducation and parenting education, as clinically indicated, utilizing strengths- based, trauma-informed and culturally competent treatment frameworks
* Maintain effective therapeutic relationships with families.
* Independently work with families who may be experiencing a wide range of complicated medical, psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial problems.
* Provide crisis management and intervention as needed.
* Proved referrals for additional care or services when required
* Maintain accurate and timely and up-to-date medical documentation of client progress and treatment interventions in adherence with program expectations and confidentiality requirements.
* Utilize evidence-based practices to provide effective therapy and support to clients.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure the best outcomes for clients.
* Travel within the Gridley, Sacramento, Napa, area to meet with families

* Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in in a related field such as social work, counseling, or psychology *required, (MSW preferred)*
* Trauma-informed care experience required
* Familiarity with privacy, health, and safety laws
* Computer skills to operate record keeping, scheduling, and emailing required
* Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
* Knowledge of crisis management techniques and ability to handle high-stress situations.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
