Job Summary
The Pharmacist Supervisor oversees operations of the Pharmacy Shared Services Center, Pharmacy Supply Chain Warehouse, and reports to the Pharmacy Supply Chain Manager.
Responsible for implementing goals, objectives, and initiatives of pharmacy supply chain services, and ensuring goals and objectives are met.
Responsible for problem-solving and daily management of operations, including the receiving, staging, and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
Responsible for supervision, staff development and assessment of staff competency for pharmacists and technicians.
Manages staff scheduling and workflows.
Works with the pharmacy supply chain manager, technician supervisors, pharmacist specialists, and others to identify areas of improvement and solutions through integration of pharmacy resources and implement solutions.
This position is registered with the Boards of Pharmacy as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) or Designated representative-in-charge (DRIC) and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, accrediting bodies, and policies and procedures.

Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an ACPE certified school of pharmacy.

Decision-making skills to independently exercise delegated authority to take action, and to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance from others when limits of delegated authority have been reached.
Ability to exercise discretion to ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained, and a professional, respectful clinic/department environment exists at all times.
Knowledge and understanding of current California Pharmacy Law and Federal Regulation relevant to the practice of pharmacy.
Ability to foster a culture of diversity and inclusion and work with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a sound work ethic.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications Prior UCD Pharmacy experience.
Previous experience in pharmacy supply chain operations.
Previous experience working with Pharmacy systems BD logistics, Pyxis and EPIC Systems for data retrieval, billing, and problem solving.
Previous experience managing and leading of multiple staff members.
Previous experience in centralized pharmacy distribution centers, pharmacy consolidated services center, or pharmacy warehouse.
Previous experience in development and maintaining regulatory compliance requirements for DSCSA (Drug Supply Chain Security Act).
Knowledge of the Affirmative action policies of UCDMC.
Proficient in Microsoft excel and data analysis.
Ability to teach and evaluate the performance of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists.

We also have the largest pharmacy residency program in the country with 46 total residents in 13 different programs.
The Department of Pharmacy offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps, and teaching) throughout the health system complex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The pharmacy services encompass inpatient pharmacy services as well as an expansive footprint in the ambulatory care space where we have clinical pharmacists embedded within our clinics and specialty care locations.
Our operational teams support the health system enterprise with three inpatient pharmacies, five outpatient pharmacies, two infusion pharmacies, a home infusion service line, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores, and distribution.
