Job Summary
To provide quality pharmaceutical services to the patients, employees and medical staff of UC Davis Health.
A Staff Pharmacist is an integral member of the health care team, responsible for drug therapy monitoring, distribution, drug information, and precepting pharmacy students and residents, conducting clinical research, participating in Department and Hospital Committees, task forces and work groups and fostering excellent interdepartmental relationships.

Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
Completion of a Pharmacy Practice PGY1 and/or PGY2 Residency or equivalent experience.
Computer skills that facilitate clinical patient data medication order entry and other basic clinical software programs.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and educate patients about their medication therapy.
Written and oral communication skills to clearly and concisely provide information, explanations and instructions to, and to elicit information from others with varying levels of ability to understand, including individuals who are ill or distressed, or who may not speak English.
Knowledge of current ambulatory care guidelines (i.
e.
NCEP, JNC, ADA).
Demonstrated, ability to identify medication-related problems in patients, communicate them to a patient’s physician and offer recommendations.
Complete working knowledge of, and skill to apply, practices, principles and techniques of patient care related to area of expertise.
Decision-making skills to independently exercise delegated authority to take action, and to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance from others when limits of delegated authority have been reached.
Preferred Qualifications Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) or Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) Certification PGY2 Pharmacy Residency Experience working with and directing residents and students Educational experience and ability to work with and direct health care professionals.
Written and oral communication skills to clearly and concisely provide information, explanations and instructions to, and to elicit information from others with varying levels of ability to understand, including individuals who are ill or distressed, or who may not speak English.
