PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE: Treatment nurses are responsible for administering treatment plans to patients who are receiving care in a hospital or other healthcare facility.
They may also be tasked with monitoring patient progress and reporting any changes back to doctors or other medical professionals.
Treatment nurses must have strong interpersonal skills, as they work closely with patients on a daily basis.
They must also be able to effectively communicate with other members of the medical team so that everyone is on the same page regarding patient status and treatment plans.
Other daily tasks are the following: Providing emotional support to patients and their families during difficult times Monitoring the progress of treatment plans and making adjustments as needed Educating patients about their illness and treatment plan, as well as providing emotional support Assisting physicians during examinations or treatments by recording data on patients’ health status Performing basic nursing tasks such as changing bandages or dressings, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, or collecting blood samples Preparing patients for surgery by shaving areas of the body where hair will be removed, applying antiseptic solutions, and assisting with pre-operative tests Providing nursing care to children, adults, families, and communities across a range of settings such as hospitals, schools, outpatient clinics, and nursing homes Coordinating care with other medical professionals to ensure that patients receive appropriate treatment plans Administering medication to patients as ordered by doctors or physician assistants EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field is REQUIRED Master’s degree in Nursing is PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 2 years experience in a clinical nursing role is REQUIRED 1 year experience in addiction treatment, mental health, or similar field is REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: A current California license as a Registered Nurse is REQUIRED BLS and CPR Certification is REQUIRED Is in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Professional, Time-sensitive, and can endure high-pressure situations Demonstrated interpersonal skills and patient assessment skills Excellent in written and verbal English communication skills.
Efficient and consistent communication with Doctors, Nurses, patients, and other healthcare professionals in our facility Organized as they often care for a number of patients at the same time Record medical data accurately A kind and compassionate RN will be considerate, sympathetic, non-judgemental and can comfort the patient.
A vital skill for a Treatment Nurse is to be able to interact well with patients, coworkers, and doctors.
Communication skills are essential for good interaction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical requirements of bending, squatting, twisting, stair climbing, walking, sitting, standing, lifting, and carrying items up to 35 lbs.
Ability to use equipment and techniques to safely assist patients to transfer, move in and out of bed, and ambulate.
