Trumpet, sax, clarinet and/or trombone player needed for hot jazz & Vaudeville blues band.
Repertoire consists of 50% vintage jazz and blues songs made famous by artists like Fats Waller, Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith, and Lead Belly; 35% quirky, upbeat originals with lots of vintage horror and sci-fi themes, largely inspired by Squirrel Nut Zippers; and 15% contemporary pop songs re-arranged in vintage style a la Postmodern Jukebox.
Current lineup is rhythm guitarist who also sings lead and plays harmonica solos; tuba player; and drummer.
We sound pretty good as a trio but could benefit from a horn player that can add jazzy fills and solos.
We play by ear and do not have charts (other than rudimentary chord/beat/measure charts), so you'd have to make your own.
All three are highly experienced, gigging players with lots of connections among local bookers.
Very skilled at getting gigs.
First gig is already lined up for May 31.
