Central Asian Shepherd Alabai (West Sacramento)

The Central Asian Shepherd Dog, (another name for Alabai,Tobet,Asian Wolf-Hound, Asian Shepherd, Asian Ovcharka)is an ancient breed of dog that has remained virtually unchanged and has been preserved in its original form.
The breed received its modern name not so long ago; previously the Central Asian Shepherd Dog was called the Turkmen Shepherd Dog or the Turkmen Wolfhound.
The Turkmen themselves call such dogs Alabay, which translated from Turkic means “Multi-spotted”.
Currently, the breed is in demand and popular due to its working qualities and unpretentiousness in maintenance.
As a rule, alabai are kept to protect country houses and fenced areas.
